Amaco No. 67 Sedona Red Clay is a rich red color before and after firing. It's superb plasticity means is can be used for all hand methods of modeling including slab, push and pull, coil, sculpture and wheel throwing.
Bisque fire to Cone 04 (1971ºF, 1077ºC). Amaco No. 77 fires from Cone 06-5 (1855ºF-2205ºF), with a recommended glaze firing of Cone 5 (2205ºF). At Cone 04, the clay is a terra cotta color with a shrinkage of 6.75% and absorption of 9%. At Cone 5, the color is a rich brown-red with a shrinkage of 10.5% and absorption of 0.9%. This art clay is talc-free.
A 50 lb. box includes two 25 lb. blocks of clay, each in a polyethylene storage bags, so feel free to use the amount required and store the rest for future use. Clay in moist form presents no hazard.
