This workshop is designed to loosen up even the tightest painter and break the niggling detail habit. Painting loose requires an understanding of specific design concepts in order to free one’s mind to paint loosely. Eric will focus on one of these principles daily, and show how to construct a beautiful painting in one sitting by freeing creative thinking from cumbersome theories of color and composition. There will be time for individual instruction in a relaxed atmosphere. All levels of expertise and individual style will benefit from Eric’s broad depth of experience. A variety of subjects will be painted by Eric which may include landscapes, marine scenes, street scenes, florals and still life.
Eric Wiegardt, nationally recognized judge and juror, has left an indelible mark on the American watercolor scene with more than 20 years of professional painting and teaching experience. He is the author of Watercolor Free and Easy, has produced an assortment of instructional DVDs, and is featured in many books along with articles in Watercolor magazine, International Artist magazine, Watercolor Magic magazine, and cover artist for The Artist’s Magazine. He is a graduate of American Academy of Art in Chicago and is a member of the American and National Watercolor Societies, among others.
