Commanding Color in Watercolor

This workshop is designed to inspire your creativity by using wet into wet techniques, color theory and design concepts. The objective is not to change you, but to add to your core of knowledge. You will be introduced to many topics and concepts and your goal should be to decide how these ideas could apply to your painting, your subject matter, intent and style. There will be a different painting lesson and/or design project each day. Topics to be discussed will be pigment qualities, saving whites, showing light, achieving colorful darks, granulation, and texture. Also covered, will be, basic color theory, viewpoint, value, shapes, cropping, designing with white, composition, intent, and taking and using photos as reference.

Sue’s award-winning paintings are exhibited in national, regional, and state competitions and hang in numerous corporate and private collections throughout the US, Europe, Australia, and South America. Since Sue began exhibiting in 1985, she has won over 100 state and national awards. She sells her original watercolors at outdoor juried shows in Florida, doing approximately 11 shows a year. She also teaches painting privately, and spends 6 weeks per year teaching watercolor workshops. Sue belongs to Watercolor USA Honor Society, The Rocky Mtn. National Watermedia Honor Society, and is a signature member of the Florida Watercolor Society, Southern Watercolor Society, Transparent Watercolor Society of America, National Watercolor Society, and American Watercolor Society.
