Making a Watercolor by Design
August 10 - 14, 2009, Boone, NC

In demonstrations and lectures, Frank will clarify the use of design principles. The aim of this study is to recreate a new reality, establish unity, and to produce unique works. Participants are encouraged to recognize and nurture their personal vision, sharpen their craft, and awaken a critical view of their own production. Demonstrations will explore a wide variety of approaches. All styles of painting are welcome. A typical day begins with an hour and a half demo. Participants then paint their own subject with help as requested. During the last hour of class each day, a group critique will explore the shortcomings and glories of each work.

Frank has received more than 100 major awards; including four from the American Watercolor Society. He is Vice President and Dolphin Fellow of the American Watercolor Society and is a member of the National Watercolor Society. Webb has authored three books and five videos, is listed in “Who’s Who in American Art”, “Who’s Who in the East”, and has conducted workshops globally and in fifty states.
