Taking a painting to completion is, by far, the hardest part of Art, but unless a painting is finished, it gets tucked away and chalked up as another failure. In this class, you will work your way to finishing that last 20% of a painting. This is not magic, but a methodical repetition of five steps: remove anything you don’t like, enrich the painting with bold color, break up boring spaces, unify with color and design, and surprise us with content to think about. You will be asked to bring 3—4 unfinished paintings to work on. Susan will work in watercolor, but these methods apply to all media. Capture the confidence needed to finish your paintings with punch and pizazz.
Susan has long been a painter and author on the National Art scene. She teaches workshops from Canada to Puerto Rico and is a Signature member of both the National Watercolor Society and the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. She is the author of the DVD and the book, “Master Disaster” and has published ten articles in Artist’s Magazine and Watercolor Magic. Susan spent four years as a newspaper art critic and is listed in Who’s Who and Who’s Who in American Education. Her work is included in 38 corporate collections. www.tregay.com
