Learn how to use soft or bold colors to create the mood in paintings and understand how the shapes work together to create movement, harmony, and balance in watercolors.  Joe will be giving 5—6 small demos throughout the day to show how colors and values work.  There will be lots of demos on a variety of techniques that he uses and also how to control the moisture to create a smooth flow of color.  You will be painting people, landscapes, and animals.  The reason for a variety of subject matter is to illustrate to the principles that you learn in the workshop.  You will be able to use them for different subjects that you’ll be painting when you get home.  Joseph has a lot of respect for his students.  He likes a workshop that is quiet, asks a lot of questions, and everyone is able to concentrate on their paintings.  If you like this attitude “of not talking during the painting sessions”, then this is your workshop.  Joe has such a great sense of humor and personality, and this quickly infuses the workshop atmosphere.  You will learn so much this week.
