Brushes:

• Decent brushes are most important! They should have good points and lots of spring
• Flat: Winsor & Newton #955 - 3/4" wide (Inexpensive and very handy)
• Round: Cheap Joe's Natural Brush #8 Round (reasonable)
• Misc. CJ Ugly Brush,or a small inexpensive brush to use with white mask.

• There are many good papers available my preference is: Kilimanjaro, Fabriano, or Lanaquerelle. Size is your choice... 1/2 or full sheet. One sheet of rough paper (preferably 300#) to be used in an exercise. A backing board to attach your paper to.

Other:

• I paint upright most of the time. In workshops this is not always possible. If you have not tried to paint htis way before, you can use a Kleenex box to gently prop up your paper.
• White mask and a Cheap Joe's Ugly Brush for application.
• If you have something to make your setup personal and interesting bring a treasure from home, Photograph, interesting container, fabric, plant, vegetables, etc.
• I would also like those who have painted before bring in a sample of your work.
