This workshop emphasizes the design of a painting—no gimmicks, just simple truths about the medium of watercolor. The primary focus of the class will be on landscape (anything that touches land) painting. Free yourself and demystify clichés (a blue/grey sky, focal points, linear perspective, stretching papers, etc.) Learn simple guidelines to strengthen your paintings and use colors intuitively instead of copying from photos. Learn how to make an interesting painting from an uninteresting photo. Ratindra, using multiple techniques and methods, will lead interactive paint-along sessions, give daily demonstrations, each building on the prior day's concepts, and offer plenty of individual attention.

Ratindra Das

Ratindra is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, and holds Master status in the Transparent Watercolor Society of America. He is also a signature member of six other national watercolor societies. Ratindra has received numerous awards including several in the AWS. He has been featured in several books and magazines, and produced the video titled: Painting a Personal Reality in Watercolor. He is a popular workshop instructor, and frequent juror of shows and competitions. He has conducted workshops and demonstrations throughout the US, Mexico, Singapore, and China.
