Mike Bailey

Mike was born, raised and educated in California. Always an artist at heart with a BS degree in Business and Engineering from San Jose State University, Bailey began painting in his mid-forties. Over time, he has been mentioned or featured in various magazines and a few books. He devised the university level class entitled "Watercolor Beyond the Obvious" at University of California at Santa Cruz. From that venue, he expanded his workshop schedule internationally, and is in high demand in the western states. He is noted as an exciting, rambunctious, fun, and extremely articulate teacher who surprises all of his students with jaw dropping realizations about their own artistic capabilities. Awards and shows? Yes! He is currently working with a British publisher to author at least one book on watercolor and has recently been elected as President of the National Watercolor Society.
