Discover a variety of acrylics, inks, textures, and mediums, and learn how to layer and combine these non-traditional materials with papers to move you into a new way of developing abstract paintings. Layering, painting, and imbedding materials create a dynamic sculptural effect on an assortment of painting supports. Each day a new project will be implemented applying different design compositions and techniques to give unique expressiveness to your work. Jan strives to keep each student's painting experience varied and special within their own range of capabilities. The workshop is open to beginning and intermediate students, but all are welcome.

Jan Sitts

Sedona, Arizona artist, Jan Sitts has a long and varied art career of over 35 years. She was formally trained at the Kansas City Art Institute and received a BA in Art from Western State College in Colorado. She is accomplished in commercial and fine art and is an internationally recognized art instructor and juror. Her paintings can be found in public and private collections, and have had much impact on her recently published book: Texture, Color, Feeling. Jan continues to teach workshops in her unique style of painting in combined mediums, and is sought out by students internationally.
