Sennelier artist oil pastels were originally developed in collaboration with Picasso in the 1940’s. These creamy oil pastels are rich in pigments, deliver great coverage and have outstanding opacity and ligthfastness. Their consistency is much like a tube of ladies lipstick. The colors were created in a palette very close to oil paints. Oil pastel may be thinned with turpentine and worked with a brush. They are acid-free and can be applied to any surface: paper, canvas, wood or metal.
If you haven’t already tried oil pastel, then you are missing out. Any serious oil artist must have a really great set of oil pastels in their art materials, like the Sennelier Oil Pastel Iridescent 12 Set!
