The Allerair 5000 D Vocarb Carbon Filter contains 22 lbs. of specially blended vocarb carbon, which targets and neutralizes Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). Non-off-gassing metal canister. Includes 2 anti-microbial wraps to prevent the carbon inside the filter from contamination. Replace carbon filter every 2-5* yrs (depends on chemical or odor levels) For artists, this could be significantly less depending. A good idea of when to replace carbon filters is if odors are stronger then they once were it most likely means that the carbon filter is saturated. Please note that Carbon spoils after 5 years, but is usually saturated after 2 1/2 years maximum. So carbon filters can last 5 years, but they will not be very effective. Instructions included.
