Frank Webb on Watercolor DVD with Frank Webb. Made from the original movie and video "Frank Webb On Watercolor." A perfect video for beginner or advanced artists. Frank offers a wealth of knowledge in one 60 minute art instruction video. This DVD has three parts. Part 1 deals with sketching on locations, designing the subject and proceeding with wet-into-wet paint. He then demonstrates making wash shapes on the now dry surface. Part 2 demonstrates working on dry paper, followed by several layers of transparent washes. Part 3 is a commentary on the qualities of several paintings.
Frank Webb lives in Pittsburgh, PA, and has been a professional artist since 1948. He is a Dolphin Fellow and a vice president of the American Watercolor Society. He also holds membership in several other art organizations and is listed in “Who’s Who in American Art”, and “Who’s Who in the East”. In addition to the three books that he has authored, he has conducted workshops in 50 states and many countries and won over 90 major awards. Going beyond the usual technical display of watercolor, Webb’s paintings express his interest in the creative concept and design principles. Since in his own words, “Painting is more caught than taught,” he stresses the importance of seeing, feeling, and responding to possibilities while synthesizing realism with abstractionism. Frank covers a broad spectrum of subjects beyond traditional landscapes.
