Holbein has formulated a superior quality soft pastel with a special unique characteristic - these pastels are also water-soluble. Not only are these pastel chalks workable in every way that a regular soft pastel can be used, you may also blend and create watercolor-like washes with a brush and water. The watersoluble pastels are available in two different sizes. The Jumbo sticks are similar in size to standard sticks of artist pastel. The small sticks are similar to a half stick pastel. The Jumbo Sticks measure 3" x 5/8'', the Small Sticks measure 1" x 3/8''. The Holbein Water Soluble Pastel Jumbo Stick 16 pack would be a great starter set for any artist.
