Blair Retouch Spray Damar Varnish is 100% pure Damar Varnish that represents the ultimate in application methods and protection for oil paintings. Blair Retouch Spray Damar Varnish is not a final picture varnish, but may be used as a temporary protection to show paintings before they are completely dry. Use Retouch Spray Varnish as a sizing to lessen the absorbancy of the ground coating or underpainting and to prepare this ground for the first paint layer. May also be used to isolate the layers of a painting and make them more receptive to additional paint. Before resuming work on a dry painting, use Retouch Spray Varnish to bring out a uniform wet appearance on dull, dried, flat places of accurate comparison. Contains no fluorocarbons. Lead-free.
