Kozo or Kozo-shi ("shi" meaning paper) refers to paper made from mulberry bark fiber, which is plentiful and easy to grow. Throughout the history of Japan, over 90 percent of papers made used kozo. The fiber itself is quite long and strong, yet very supple. Kozo Natural has a beautiful woven texture and is ivory in color. Kozo Natural is handmade from acid-free kozo/hemp/sulphite pulp with four deckle edges. The primary use of Kozo paper is block printing and calligraphy; it also serves as the base paper for many other uses such as shoji screens, umbrellas, lanterns and fans and Yuzen-patterned papers. Great for drawing, printmaking, bookbinding, collage, digital imaging, conservation and restoration and should run through an ink jet printer. Available in 38" x 25" sheets. 5 sheets per pack.
