Cheap Joe’s Art Stuff has a program near and dear to our hearts. It’s called Brushes for Vincent. Especially geared towards budding artists, Brushes for Vincent allows any children’s non-profit organization or children’s charitable group to annually make written requests to receive free art stuff to benefit the children.
Who hasn’t heard of Vincent van Gogh? But do you know his story? Vincent wouldn’t be famous today if it weren’t for his younger brother, Theo. Theo van Gogh supported Vincent during the dark times when there wasn’t enough money to pay the rent or buy food. Along with love and understanding (and, yes, rent money, too) Vincent also received art supplies from his brother. These brushes, paints and canvas allowed Vincent to continue to paint what are now world reknown masterpieces.
