This class is mixed watermedia and collage on paper, canvas, and clay board.  We will apply the “What If?”  “What if” I add texture, dimension, or contrast?  “What if” I applied this technique to one of my unresolved paintings?  The “What ifs” will be discussed and after the 1st 2 days, you will be working hands on and individually. Also there will be individual and class critiques.  Various media will be used to build texture, add interest to your paintings, and work as a glue agent for collage.  The goal of this workshop is to introduce students to creative textural surfaces by experimenting on various papers and combining different media, and for each student to make a unique visual personal statement.  This class is best for intermediate and advanced students.  Mary Alice says that you must first know the rules before you can begin breaking them.
