Mary Alice makes her home in St. Petersburg, Florida. She works in mixed watermedia, collage, and assemblages. She taught Art in the public school system in Hillsborough County and was a art consultant for a school district in the Denver, Colorado area. She was president of the Florida Watercolor Society in 1991 and 1992, and served on the Society’s executive Board until 1998. Braukman retired as director of the Kanuga Watercolor Workshops, (1993—2005) held at the Kanuga Conference Center in Hendersonville, NC. Braukman was the guest editor for the special issue: Experimental Approaches to Watermedia of the American Artist Magazine—Watercolor 2001, Winter.
