In this workshop, you will travel to various exciting locations in the area, to paint the Blue Ridge landscape, streams, rocks and summer foliage.  Tony’s ability to graphically explain problems and solutions as they arise during on-location demonstrations, combined with his energetic and enthusiastic teaching style, have made him a popular instructor, noted for his empathy with student struggles.  He “has been there” and tries not to forget those normal stages in one’s artistic development.  Since artists are visually oriented, Tony will acquaint you with the Building Blocks of Painting, a visual reminder system he designed, based on the experience of generations of masters in every painting medium and style.  Then, at the end of a busy day, sit back to enjoy van Hasselt’s unique critiques and see how those efforts can be improved with suggested additions, actually painted on an acetate overlay, placed over the paintings.
