The Illustrated journal art workshop is the creative process of merging images and words together on a page. In the art class we will explore fun and exciting ways to be creative with images, words and page design. Each day we’ll explore different drawing techniques, watercolor, and ink. Whether you’re interested in creating an illustrated journal for travel, gardening, daily life…amazing things happen when you put images and words together. You’ll come away from the art workshop excited and inspired about your work! Best of all, your illustrated journal will uniquely reflect your style and creative voice. Participants will benefit from demonstrations, encouragement and individual help.
Brenda is the artist author of two books, Keeping a Watercolor Sketchbook (Award of Excellence Finalist) and Steps to Success in Watercolor. Her paintings and sketches have been featured in Splash 11, 12 & 14, Artistic Touch 4, Creative Freedom, Watercolor Artist, Watercolor Magazine, Watercolor Highlights, Wheels of Time, Plein Air Magazine and numerous other publications. Brenda has achieved signature status in WW, NWWS, and SDWS. An active participant in the arts community she has served on the board of directors for the National Watercolor Society and Watercolor West. She is in demand to demonstrate and teach her painting techniques to groups nationwide and abroad.
Level 2 (and up): Beginner-Intermediate - Reviews basic techniques for beginners as needed, and offers practice exercises at an average pace to assist in gaining confidence and experience with the medium. Assistance is given to all.
OR: Register at least 6 months in advance and enroll in our 50/50 plan (half of the tuition at the time of registration and the other half 60 days prior to the workshop) and receive 7.5% off* of the workshop tuition.
OR: Register at least 6 months in advance and enroll in our 3 month payment plan and receive 5% off* of the workshop tuition.*Registrations are first come, first serve for remaining spaces available in the workshop.

$100 is non-refundable for all workshops, regardless of when you cancel. If you cancel your workshop at least 60 daysprior to the workshop, you will receive a refund of all money except for the $100 fee. There is NO refund, for any reason, if you cancel within 60 days of the workshop. We understand that last minute emergencies, illnesses, or conflicts come up that can't be controlled, and we are truly sorry, but due to committed expenses on the part of Cheap Joe's, we are not able to make exceptions.
The purchase of optional travel insurance is HIGHLY recommended to protect you if an unforeseen personal emergency should arise. Some credit cards, auto clubs, travel services, or online companies offer travel insurance for nonrefundable expenses. If it’s necessary for either an instructor or CJAS to cancel a workshop, you will receive a full refund of tuition, but not other related expenses.
