Canson Montval Watercolor Paper Blocks are easy to use and suitable for all watercolor techniques. The 140 lb. acid-free paper is wood pulp based, and is natural white with a cold press texture. External sizing offers great erasability for lifting and making corrections.

Montval paper is excellent for watercolor, acrylic, gouache, or ink washes. It's economical yet performs well for both students and professional artists alike.

Montval Blocks are glued on all four sides. The convenience of painting on a block eliminates the need for stretching, so the paper is ready to use. Simply paint directly on the block and let the paper dry before removing. Blocks are not only for ideal for painting and plein air, but also work well for drawing as it provides a sturdy support surface to work on.

Cold Press - This lightly textured paper surface is the most popular finish for watercolor paintings. It reflects light well, retaining the transparent quality of watercolors. The light tooth makes it easier to achieve certain details, while the slightly rougher texture shows off granulating colors beautifully. Not limited to watercolors, it's also recommended for gouache, acrylic, airbrush, graphite, pastels, and charcoal. A versatile paper texture.
