Chroma Atelier Painting Mediums will allow you to manipulate the consistency and properties of acrylic paint for an infinite variety of applications and techniques.
Binder Medium - Binder Medium may be used as a medium when needed to toughen paint for conventional acrylic techniques like scratching back. When added to acrylic paint it speeds drying and increases gloss. Binder Medium can also be used as a binder for collage or a-ﾠgeneral purpose sealer to prepare porous surfaces either before using gesso or as a somewhat slippery ground preparation in its own right.
Clear Painting Medium - Chroma Atelier Clear Painting Medium is a general purpose, mid-viscosity medium-ﾠthat allows paint to be diluted smoothly for-ﾠglazing and blending techniques without-ﾠaltering sheen level. Allows Atelier Interactive to remain-ﾠworkable for longer before needing to use a-ﾠwater sprayer.
Fast Medium/Fixer - Use Fast Medium/Fixer to fix layers of paint fast especially when wanting to achieve multiple layers of glazing. Fast Medium/Fixer is also useful when you want to reinforce a tender layer in preparation for scratch back and scraping techniques. Returns Atelier Interactive to a more conventional acrylic.
Heavy Gel (Gloss) - Atelier Heavy Gel is a thick, fast drying water-based acrylic gel designed to exaggerate structure and sharpen textural edges of paint. Also increases the gloss level of paint. Formerly known as Atelier Impasto Gel.
Moulding Paste - Atelier Moulding Paste is a very thick and textural paste made from calcite grit. Use for exaggerated-ﾠstructure and textural effects at any stage in a painting's process. Dries neutral. May be mixed with paint to produce a colored ground or painted over once dry. Formerly known as Atelier Modeling Compound.
Slow Medium - Atelier Slow Medium is the most useful medium for extending drying time. Slow Medium is ideal when painting large works because it gives an artist time to work without the paint drying too fast. It also allows thinly applied paint to remain workable. Even paint which feels dry to the touch can be reactivated with water for re-blending techniques.
Unlocking Formula - Atelier Unlocking Formula allows artists to reopen a paint layer of Atelier Interactive Artists Acrylic even once it's dry to the touch. Once the paint is reopened, new paint may be blended back in, existing paint edges can be feathered or whole sections can be removed with a rag. Unlocking Formula can also be used to further extend wet blending time.
Water Sprayer - The Chroma Atelier Fine Mist Water Sprayer allows artists to control the drying speed of their paint. When you need more time for wet blending, a light misting of water can keep Atelier Interactive wet for as long as you like.
Varnish - Use as a final varnish for artists' acrylic to protect artwork. Available in Gloss, Matte and Satin finishes. Non-toxic, water-based. Non-removable. Formerly known as Chroma Atelier Medium & Varnish.
