A Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolor Sticks offer the same superior intensity as the Daniel Smith line of Extra Fine Watercolor paints with the convenience and portability of half pans. Each stick is packed with pure pigment and just enough gum arabic to form a solid stick. Watercolor sticks produce vibrant, strong color when wet, or use them dry to build texture. They're highly reactive with water and release rich, creamy colors. Ideal for sketching, developing color values, and building expressive marks, Daniel Smith Watercolor Sticks combine the best of drawing with painting. They're ideal for mixed media.

French Ultramarine - French Ultramarine is a medium-to-dark warm reddish-blue with high lightfastness and medium tinting strength. This blue's sedimentary quality increases its versatility, and when mixed with various portions of other blues is a wonderful sky pigment. Modify this dark blue with Quinacridone Gold for delightful greens that remain color-coordinated. Mix French Ultramarine with Quinacridone Burnt Orange and be rewarded with an amazing range of blue to brown grays. Mixed with either Quinacridone Rose or Pink and a range of purples result.

This is a granulating color, meaning a grainy visual texture is created when the pigment particles settle and clump together rather than settling evenly on the painted surface.
