The focus of Expressive Watercolor from Floral Photographs with Janet Walsh is using your own photographs as a reference point for still-life painting. During the course of the demonstration, Janet takes the viewer through all the steps in creating a wonderful watercolor painting of your favorite floral selection.
In eight consecutive chapters Walsh moves seamlessly from material selection through the final brush strokes and in between covers the steps necessary to use photography as a reference point for painting.
Janet Walsh is a very popular instructor and long time member of the American Watercolor Society. And while this new DVD offering leans slightly toward the intermediate painter, there is much to be gleaned by the beginner and more advanced still life painter.
Janet studied at the School of Visual Arts and the Art Student League in Manhattan. She is a well known teacher of workshops, both in the US and Overseas. In addition to teaching and painting, she juries and judges many regional and national art shows. Her book,'"Watercolor Made Easy", has been reprinted many times, with one version reprinted especially for the UK. Limited editions and prints of her work have been published in the US, Europe, and Japan. Janet is a past President of the American Watercolor Society, and a Fellow in the Royal Society for the encouragement of the Arts, London England. She holds memberships in many art associations and leagues, and is listed in Who's Who in American Art. She has received many awards and honors for her paintings.
