This art workshop will feature the many dimensions of the excitingly vivid, versatile, and non-toxic medium of colored pencils. With plenty of studio demonstrations and access to a generous supply of sample materials, you will explore a wide range of colored pencils and enhancing techniques, and learn to apply them to your “paintings”. Kristy will demonstrate in this art class color-layering, line impression, texturizing, burnishing, buffing, heat techniques, color-lifting, highlighting, blending, and much more. A wide range of surfaces will also be introduced: Bristol board, Stonehenge paper, sanded colored pastel papers, multi-medium art boards, and watercolor papers. Wax and oil-based "traditional" colored pencils will initially be used, but you will learn to also use watercolor pencils and watersoluble wax pastels. Kristy tailors her instruction to beginners and accomplished artists alike.
