This art workshop is divided into two segments: two days of Chinese painting, and three days of watercolor. In the Chinese painting session, students learn how to use Chinese brushes, ink and colors, as well as theories of the Asian Art, and use the techniques to paint two styles of Chinese paintings: spontaneous style and detail with spontaneous style. During the watercolor painting session, Lian teaches basic techniques such as compositions and coloring, plus his unique methods including, "Color Pouring and Blending" and "Paint Around” (negative painting). There are 4-6 short art demos each day with student practices between. There will also be critiques in which Lian helps you touch up your paintings. By the end of the art workshop, you may be able to finish couple of paintings, or learn enough techniques to complete them later.
Lian is an internationally sought-after watercolor & Chinese painting artist/teacher. He has many shows in the US, Hong Kong and China and has an international following.
