The 7th annual Cheap Joe’s Winter Art Contest is open to all LOCAL artists. Artists from Watauga County and its surrounding counties are eligible to participate. These counties include Watauga, Ashe, Caldwell, Avery, Wilkes, and Johnson Co. TN.
When submitting artwork, please keep the following considerations in mind.
- Original painted/drawn, artwork only. No photography, quilting, prints etc.. will be accepted.
- Artwork should be two dimensional (no sculpture)
- Artwork should be framed. If not framed it should be “Ready to Hang”. No loose pieces will be accepted.
- All submitted artwork will be displayed
- Artwork is limited to one entry per person
- Entries may not be larger than 36”x40”
- All artwork must be complete and dry!!! No wet pieces will be accepted.
- Artists must fill out an entry form with name, address, age, title, and media type at the time of artwork submission.
You may submit artwork to the Cheap Joe’s Outlet Store. Deadline is 12:00pm March 1st
An awards ceremony and reception will be held Saturday March 8th from 11:00am till 2:00pm. Winners announced at 12:30pm
Refreshments will be provided.
Artwork will hang in the workshop area until Saturday March 15th and must be picked up no later than March 20th.
We request that you leave your work on display with Cheap Joe’s until March 15th. Winners will be expected to leave their work on display through March 15th.
Submitted Artwork will be judged on creativity, originality, mastery of media, and overall impression. Age groups are Children 9 and under, juniors 10-15, and adults 16 and up.
