Winsor & Newton Artists' Oilbar, Prussian Blue, combines buttery consistency and rich oil color with the freedom of pastels or charcoal. Prussian Blue is a deep blue color and was made by German chemist Diesbach around 1704 making it the first synthetic blue pigment. This oilbar quickly gained favor as an alternative to genuine Ultramarine.
Winsor & Newton Artists’ Oilbars provide an exciting way to intermix drawing and painting. Use Oilbar like a giant crayon and draw directly onto the canvas or other ground of your choice to create a dynamic and expressive look.
You may also blend your color with a brush and solvent, to create a more painterly effect!
Available in a 50 ml. stick, each Winsor & Newton Oilbar measures 5-3/4" long.
