Winsor & Newton Cold Press Linseed Oil
Quick Overview
Ideal for preventing over-thinning, Winsor & Newton's Linseed Oils are used to modify consistency, gloss and drying times.
Winsor & Newton uses 100% recycled plastic in their ergonomically designed bottles. Due to using recycled plastic, the material will sometimes have a tint to it, either slightly green or slightly yellow. Rest assured, the medium inside will be the normal color.
Cold Pressed Linseed Oil - A slightly yellow oil, Cold Pressed Linseed Oil is extracted without the use of heat, making oil color "fatter." This linseed oil dries slightly quicker than refined linseed oil while decreasing the consistency of oils. Ideal for grinding pigments, Cold Pressed Linseed Oil reduces viscosity and brushstrokes while adding transparency and gloss. Mix just enough medium with paint to get smooth textures. To keep light colors clean, use linseed oil sparingly - for whites in particular, Winsor & Newton recommends using Safflower Oil. Wipe the neck of the bottle after use, to ensure the safety cap remains secure.
