Brause Calligraphy Nibs and Nib Holders

Since 1850, Brause has been manufacturing steel nibs for writing, drawing, and calligraphy. Brause nibs can be found in the toolbox of many calligraphers, lettering artists, and illustrators and are considered to be among the best on the market.

Crafted from cold rolled steel and pressed with tools specific to each model and nib size, Brause nibs offer a balance between elasticity for easy writing, and the resistance needed for clear and consistent strokes. The most delicate part of the manufacturing process involves cutting a slit down the middle of the nib, enabling the ink to flow correctly and freely from the reservoir to the tip of the nib.

Extra Fine Point 66EF Nib - Also called the "Arrow" nib, it has very smooth reaction, is highly elastic, and carries a high ink capacity. A favorite for pointed pen work.

Hard 513 Nib - This fine point nib has hard reaction and a strong drawing style.

Index Finger 29 Nib - A simple and precise script nib with a medium fine point and a large reserve of ink. Great for monoline lettering.

Medium Soft 511 Nib - Ideal for tiny writing and fine lines, this fine point nib has smooth reaction and elastic drawing style.

Ornament 500 Nib - This nib has a rounded oval nib with a blade and ink reservoir. Perfect for titles, ornamentation, and monoline lettering.

Plakat 755 Poster Nib - This "steel brush" is a gold-plated folded metal nib ideal for creating large letters and broad lines.

Rose 76 Nib - This strong yet super flexible fine point nib has an embossed rose design. The soft, bouncy point responds effortlessly to even light pressure for dramatic, swelled strokes. A vintage nib from Brause reintroduced several years ago.

Steno 361 Nib - Also called "Blue Pumpkin" because of its color and shape, this short hand nib has a very fine point, is highly elastic, and carries a high ink capacity. Creates a thin line with perfect ink flow!

Hexagonal Double Ended Nib Holder - This double ended nib holder fits both larger and smaller nib bases. It features a hexagonal shape for an easy grip and for staying put on your desktop.
