Cretacolor Fine Art Graphite Pencils are considered to be the ultimate fine art graphite pencil. Cretacolor Fine Art Graphite Pencils are made by mixing and then grinding together different types of graphite with high-grade fireproof ceramic clay. This gives the graphite high breaking strength.

The end cap color of each pencil corresponds to the hardness of the pencil, the darker the grey, the softer the lead. Hardness and softness grades from 9B (softest) to H cover the full range of applications. Softer grades produce broader and darker strokes. Harder grades produce more precise and lighter strokes.

Cretacolor Fine Art Graphite Pencils are encased in a hard cedar wood, which guarantees strength making them easier to sharpen. Pencils come pre-sharpened.
