The 11-step value scale has open holes for easy isolated comparison of different colors. It also has an open view finder window that's proportioned to the most common painting format. In addition to the value scale and viewfinder, this "Perception Kit" includes a red, color-neutralizing panel that can be used alone or placed behind the tool to make seeing values even easier.
