Grumbacher Pre-tested Professional Oil Paint, Aureolin, is made with pure pigments milled in alkali-refined linseed oil. A permanent, lightfast, transparent brilliant Golden Yellow that is use only for glazing. It is rarely used in opaque layers because its full strength, undiluted appearance is a dull Tan hue. Also known as Cobalt Yellow it has been used in the U.S. and Europe since 1861. Formulated from Potassium Cobaltinitrite (PY40).
