Sludge is predominantly neutral in tone as the combination of colors produced in the factory during this time period dictate its hue. Perfect for under paintings, mixed media applications, as a neutral opacifier, textural paste or a color extender.

Note from Tri-Art - Sludge is produced from the accumulated wash water from production. Sludge is predominantly neutral in tone as the combination of colors produced in the factory during this time period dictate its hue. Occasionally we use off-spec or factory spills to obtain the batch color. No two batches are alike, thus we do not assign a color name but rather refer to each edition by their Batch#.
