Anne Abgott Online Workshop: White on White - June 3, 2024

Learn from the comfort of your own home or studio in this one-day, live & interactive class through Zoom! This workshop is about taking a very boring, uninspiring image and adding reflective colors, warm & cool colors, and some negative painting techniques to bring the painting to life! We are going to take those gray shadows and make them glow by mingling the colors.

The class is best for intermediate artists and up, as some watercolor experience is needed. Anne will not finish the painting in this 4-hour class, but she will be teaching and covering all the elements needed for you to complete the image on your own. Please note that the example painting shown will be very different from the reference photo that Anne will provide, but she will teach you how to manipulate the design and colors to empower your painting. Students will be provided with a reference photo, masking guide, pre-class instructions, and other information about a week prior to the workshop. Anne will not be providing a drawing as she feels it’s important for you to see and feel the shapes as you put them on the paper.

Anne will motivate and guide you step-by-step as she demonstrates her techniques and unique process. You will receive personalized feedback from Anne during the interactive demonstrations, and with an overhead camera, you’ll have the same view that Anne has, as she paints!

Cheap Joe’s will record the workshop and upload the unlisted video to our YouTube channel. Enrolled students will have unlimited, lifetime access to the video so you can watch again later at your convenience, and at your own pace. Anne will also be available for email assistance after the workshop to finish your painting, or for critique.

Anne is teaching 6 Watercolor workshops, January-June, each with a different subject and painting. One is not a pre-requisite to take Anne’s other workshops. You are welcome to take a single favorite, several, or all 6. Anne has taught in-house and virtual workshops for Cheap Joe’s for many years, and her very popular workshops continue to sell out quickly, so sign up early!

Canadian born, Anne Abgott, maintains her studio in Cortez, Florida. She is the author of the #1 Best Selling Book “Daring Color”, published by North Light Books, which has had 3 reprints! Anne has been published and received many awards since 2001. Some of her more recent publications and awards include: 2016- International Artist magazine; 2016- Watercolor Artist magazine; 2017- Southwest Artist magazine; 2017- Cover Pratique Des Arts magazine; 2018- Pratique Des Arts magazine; 2019- The Art of Watercolor; and “Splash 11”.
