Best stretcher bars are made of finger-jointed white pine to provide durability and strength. The 13/16" x 1-1/2" profile is shaped with a curved raised edge, so the bars are not apparent behind the canvas; the canvas is always a full 1/2" from the stretcher bars to ensure that there will be no "ghost" impressions. Using a cross brace is recommended when using stretcher bars over 36". Best stretcher bars are made in America by Wisconsin Craftsmen.
