Golden Waterborne Varnishes protect artwork with a non-tacky surface that resists dirt and dust and contains Ultra Violet Light Stabilizers (UVLS) to protect artwork from exposure to sunlight. Varnish helps delay the inevitable fading that occurs in materials that may be fugitive in nature. All of Golden’s varnishes can be removed and re-applied to facilitate cleaning by conservators.
Golden Waterborne Varnishes are for use on interior paintings as a topcoat for acrylic paints. Waterborne Varnishes offer a removable protective surface to the relatively soft acrylic paint layer. They can be applied without harsh solvents for thinning, cleanup, removal, ventilation, and other precautions necessary when working with mineral spirit varnish.
